Today we’re reviewing the Real Relax Favor L1 Massage Chair. But first, who is Real Relax?
Real Relax is a company that began in 2014. They saw many people suffering from back and wrist aches from spending too much time on their computers.
In January 2015, they launched their first chair, Favor-01. Since then they’ve grown internationally to Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, and Japan.
Their mission is — you guessed it — to build massage chairs that help you relax.
Let’s take a deep dive into one of Real Relax’s best-selling massage chairs: the Real Relax Favor L1.
Let’s get started.

Real Relax Favor L1 Features
Robotic hands
At the core of all massage chairs are the roller mechanisms that ultimately provide the pressure to produce the massages that you feel. Real Relax calls their rollers ‘Robotic hands.’
The rollers are a pair of two silicone wheels that operate independently. When selecting different types such as knead massages, walking finger, or knock beat, these rollers adjust left and right accordingly.
The interesting thing to note is that you can change the robotic hand’s width if you want to focus the massage on a certain part of your body.
These rollers are advertised as 4D or four-dimensional. The 2D is the ability for the rollers to go side to side and up and down. The 3D is the ability to go back and forth. Lastly, the 4th dimension is time, which is the speed at which they operate.
Lastly, these rollers sit on an SL track. SL track is the most advanced track because it has the curvature of the S track and the extension to the butt area of the L track. Zero Gravity
Most modern luxury massage chairs have the zero gravity feature and the Real Relax Favor L1 is no exception.
The zero gravity feature for this chair is similar to other chairs and it offers a very relaxing massage, relieving your back from all the pressure it endures every day.
Often I’ve fallen asleep in this chair and it does not return to its original position after the timer is up if in zero gravity mode.
Body Scan Technology
Body scan technology is somewhat of a hyped term in the massage industry. The case of Real Relax Favor L1 is no exception. It exists and simply does one thing: adjust the back rollers so it doesn’t go above your head.
Time and Space Saving
Some have struggled in the past trying to decipher instructions written in foreign languages. Others may want to buy a massage chair for their elderly loved ones only to fear that it may require heavy lifting.
Fear not, because the Favor L1 comes assembled. It also sports the space-saving technology that many brands in the industry gloat about. The exact measurement from the wall is 1.96 inches.
Additionally, the footrest can be lifted on top of the chair.
Upright Arm Massage
This one is cool. Many massage chairs today have a slot for the arms and airbags to stimulate the massage. However –for whatever reason — many of those arm slots have an opening on the side. This wasn’t ideal as the arms would easily slip out.
This massage chair has vertical arm slots so it doesn’t slide out so easily as gravity is working with you, not against you.
Remote Control
It’s kind of a bummer that a high-end massage chair like this has a tethered remote. On the bright side, you’re a lot less likely to lose it.
The timer defaults to 15 minutes but can be updated to 30 minutes. It also remembers your settings from last time so you don’t have to set it per session. Even some of the Kahuna chairs don’t have this capability.
4 auto programs are available:
- Relaxing
- Mild
- Sleep
- Strong
Foot Massager
The foot massage includes rollers and airbags that work in unison to provide the massage. It provides “scrapping” massage which is a type of Thai massage.
The foot massager does a decent job but there are several caveats to watch out for.
First is the size. If you have size 13 or bigger, you might have trouble fitting comfortably into the foot massager.
Second, is the footrest extension that is placed for taller people. This extension requires you to apply pressure to make it extend. Some say it’s not comfortable to have to exert effort into fitting into the massage chair when you’re taller than average.
With all that being said, the foot massager delivers a medium-intensive massage. The airbags compress tightly like the peak of your blood pressure test when the nurse is pumping air into the inflatable.
Real Relax Favor L1 Customer Service
Real Relax’s customer service is more modern than others because they’ve integrated Facebook Messenger into their support contact.
We decided to test them by asking something general like “Do your chairs have track systems?
Unfortunately, the response wasn’t so great. They spoke in broken English and didn’t understand the intent of the question.
Real Relax Favor L1 Improvements
We’ve noticed several key areas of improvement in the Real Relax Favor L1 chair.
None of these is huge deal breakers, but the airbags are strong.
Airbag Intensity
The intensity of the airbag is… intense. Especially toward the butt area, you’ll need to dampen it with a towel or else you could be getting bruises.
There are only two airbag strength options, but both seem pretty intense. Some customers report that they have to turn the airbags off entirely to enjoy the massage.
Noise
The noise level of the motor is not too loud. The chair is equipped with a silent pump, which reduces noise to about 50 DB. 50 DB is equivalent to a quiet conversation in a suburban home.
With that being said, we did find Kahuna chairs to be quieter.
Color
In the advertisement, the chair sports a bright royal blue color. However, what is shipped is a darker blue.
